All the wrestlers taking part in the Moscow Grand Prix - ALROSA Cup are multiple Olympic champions and prize-winners, world and European champions and prize-winners - and they will all meet on the mat in Moscow!

The tournament will again be visited by the President of the United World Wrestling, Nenad Lalovic, recently re-elected to a new term. In this regard, Mikhail Gerazievich recalled that historically the Moscow tournament was a platform for discussing the reforms of the international wrestling, many of which were included in the modernization program, and Russia was the driving force behind these reforms. Then, in 2013, it convinced the IOC to keep the wrestling in the Olympic Games program.

Mikhail Gerazievich expressed special gratitude to the organizer and partners: the Moscow Sports Department, the general partner of the Russian Wrestling Federation - ALROSA, the official partner - the Olimpbet betting company and the Stoloto state lottery.

Omar Murtazaliev noted that the tournament has its own long history, which began in 1997, when the tournament was held in memory of the untimely deceased wrestler, two-time Olympic champion, former President of the Federation - Ivan Sergeevich Yarygin. Omar Magomedovich said: “The tournament has always been marked by the fact that it was looking for new formats for holding competitions. And in the format in which it exists today, it responds to the request of young people and wrestling fans, and we hope that everyone will like it very much".

“I would like to wish the participants of the tournament a beautiful and vivid fight, and the spectators – a show,” said Varteres Samurgashev.

Khadzhimurat Gatsalov said that the goal of this tournament is to popularize the sport. For the younger generation to follow the example of champions and go in for sports, and become champions themselves.
